Welcome to Year 3, a place of enthusiastic learning!

Year 3 is a very important year as it is a transition between Key Stages and children experience a different type of learning.

In Year 3 we build upon the fundamental skills acquired in Key Stage 1 through enjoyment, creativity and inspiring lessons. We aim to wow the children and develop a love of learning with a dedicated team.

What the children have to say:

I've enjoyed learning about the Stone Age. We know that this happened in BC and we’re in AD now – so it was a really long time ago. We’ve been finding out that the people used to use animal skins and furs to make their homes and bones for weapons and household items like spoons. We’ve used the book, Stone Age Boy to help us gather more information about what life was like during the Stone Age.

In maths, we've been learning about time. We’ve been reading digital clocks and analogue clocks to convert times. We even have been trying to use our knowledge of this in other lessons to keep track of time.

In English, we have been learning about the features of newspapers. We are going to learn all about what they have to include and then will try to write our own newspaper reports using these ideas.
