What the children have to say:

"like learning about the Autumn animals because they are really cute to see."

"I am learning to count and soon I will count so many things if I keep trying!"

"I like singing because singing makes you happy everyday."

All parents in Reception were invited to a workshop with a focus on Reading.

As part of a government scheme, all children in Reception receive a free book. The book this year was “The Bumblebear” by Nadia Shireen.

The workshop offered activities which were focused around the book. The activities were:
Reading area: Can you share your book with your adult?
Creative table: Can you make a paper plate bee?
Phonics table: Can you read the words?
Maths table: Can you estimate how many bees there are?
ICT area: Can you get the bee bot to cross the finish line?
Funky fingers table: Can you use the tweezers to put the pom poms on the flowers?
Construction area: Can you build a bee hive?
Playdough table: Can you make the wings and strips for the bee?
Colouring table: Can you colour the bee?

Parents were very complimentary of the workshop with one commenting she had loved coming - who knew you could do so many activities around a book!
